We have added 34,662 entries to Scotland's Criminal Database. This update coveres the following prisons: Aberdeen, Dumbarton, Edinburgh (Calton Jail), Edinburgh (Police Prison), helensburgh, Inveraray, Leith Police Prison, Linlithgow, Musselburgh, Paisley, Rothesay and Wick.

National Records of Scotland closed on Thursday 27 March

I can’t see a mention of this online but when we were in the Historical Search Room yesterday we were told that the NRS would be closed on Thursday and open as usual on Friday.

Hope this saves someone a wasted journey!
