VERY PSYCHED to start building this kit my daughter got me for the holidays. I’m hoping it’s variations on the “Te Deum” from TOSCA, but variations on 1812 would be a good choice too. Yes, this is a nerdy classical music joke.

Okay!! I don’t have too many more things I made for the first time this year that I’m in love with, but this Cantonese stir-fried beef with tomatoes was a good one. And I made the best versions yet of: eggplant parm pizza, gumbo, and chicken & (sesame-scallion) waffles with (teriyaki) syrup.

I love adding expression text after dynamics... SO helpful to distinguish between a sweet "piano" & an anguished "piano" for example! But I just tried to mark a certain "forte" as "elated" and now I can't stop laughing at the marking I almost added to this piece. It's not THAT kind of piece!!! 🤣🤣🤣

All I want is for opera companies to advertise their big dramatic offerings like heavy metal record labels do. That’s all! Easy peasy. Huge prizes to the first ad that’s like “Verdi’s ‘La Traviata’: PREPARE TO BE CRUSHED!”
