Of course they do. Read the article and you’ll find they aren’t too wild about having the NG deployed in Texas cities even though both Dallas and Houston both have higher percentages of violent crime.

FYI, I’m a Texan. Upon first hearing the news, I immediately called Greg Abbott’s office to ask if he was deploying the TNG to Illinois at Trump’s behest and asked under what authority he is claiming in order to unconstitutionally violate a another state’s sovereignty. We’re not all fascists.

It’s naive for me to think this way but it astounds me that 60 years after the VRA was passed, which itself was almost a century after Reconstruction, that we are still having to put up with racists doing their damndest to deny Black Americans their right to vote.
