A comic page shows a tense nighttime conversation between Susan, a concerned mother, and her teen son David, who is secretly Nightsmoke) in their dim apartment. The lighting is low, with cool shadows and warm highlights. Panel 1: Susan enters David’s room cautiously, leaning toward him. She looks worried in her white “V” sweatshirt. David sits at his desk, turned partly away. Susan says, “No, you didn’t… I was just worried, that’s all.” David replies, “Worried?” Panel 2: Susan sits on the edge of David’s bed, anxious. Susan says, “He’s back. That horrible Nightsmoke character. They’re saying he attacked some company downtown. I didn’t know where you were. I can’t lose you, David.” Panel 3: David wheels his chair beside his mother and tries to reassure her. Susan turns to him, hands gripping her arms. David says, “I’m fine. I’m home. I’m safe.” Susan answers, “I know, I’m just—” David interrupts gently: “Hey, we’re gonna figure this all out. I know it’s been rough having to move, get out of the public eye. But I’m gonna find a way to clear Dad’s name.” Panel 4: Susan stands, her face full of fear. She says, “I know you’re doing your best. But what if he’s out there? What if Nightsmoke comes for us next?” Panel 5: Close-up of David smiling up at Susan, knowing that he, in fact, is Nightsmoke. He says, “Somehow, I doubt that’ll happen. Teen superhero NIGHTSMOKE, wearing a motorcycle jacket, hoodie, helmet and a backpack, flies into the air towards the viewer, his legs turning to smoke. He raises one arm in a heroic pose, while the other carries Mariana, who wears a beanie, a mask over the bottom half of her face and a tactical vest. Her arms have turned to rocks to deflect any incoming attacks and they fly off into the night.

Because why not, I decided to strip and repaint the first mini I ever painted: my D&D character Morathos.

A poorly painted tielfling sorcerer miniature. The paint is cracking and he is missing a hand. A well-painted tiefling sorcerer miniature. The paint is smooth and he has one gloved hand that holds a knife. The mini has been based on a round base with a grass, dirt and pebble texture.

My Dracula’s America posse I made a while ago! I really love the ruleset of this game, and wish it had more robust scenarios and campaign stuff, but overall, it’s a blast.
Nothing says escapism like playing a bunch of evil bloodsuckers who work for the president who is a literal vampire.

Speaking of #Mordheim, I don’t think I ever posted my Sisters of Sigmar warband.

Played my first Crusade game of Warhammer 40k yesterday with my Dark Angels. I had a great time. They weren’t quite as sneaky as I’d hoped and I definitely forgot some rules, but I’m looking forward to the next game with them!
