Hi👋🌹Labour Party Councillor for Great Harwood in Hyndburn, Lancashire. Cabinet Member for Business and Growth. Fabian and Coop Party member. CIHCM #ukhousing 🐝🌹🇪🇺 Views my own etc. @uklabour
Thank you to the Great Harwood Branch of the Royal British Legion for a very poignant Armistice Day Service today on the Town Gate.

An impeccably observed two minutes silence from all who attended.

Basically, we need to be finding Traitor viewers that would rather be Faithfuls than Traitors to get the Labour vote out for the next set of elections. 🤷‍♂️

Lee Anderson boasts about “gaming the system” at Citizens Advice—then uses it to justify slashing support for anxious young people.

This isn’t a critique of CAB. It’s a dubious confession from a Reform MP who sees compassion as weakness and lived experience as fraud.

With every single day, it becomes more and more apparent that Brexit was the biggest act of self-sabotage in British history, where we chose to follow a rose-tinted non-existant nostalgia over national interest.

Voting Reform just doubles down and accelerates this disaster.

Corbyn & Sultana back on speaking terms—cue the Gallagher comparisons. But let’s be honest: we’re not at the 2025 stage of the Oasis journey. We’re still in the early albums era. A couple of bangers, then a messy fallout.

I've just voted for @lucympowell.bsky.social to be Deputy Leader of the Labour Party.
October 8, 2025 at 4:31 PM
This.

NEW: @mainstreamlabour.bsky.social
endorses @lucympowell.bsky.social for Deputy Leader of the Labour Party. In a special ballot, 82.2% of Mainstream members voted to endorse Lucy. Labour’s Mainstream wants the party and government to be reset in line with pluralist, democratic socialist values.

One minute Reform UK are promising £350 cuts to council tax for everyone... next minute they're RAISING it.

They over promised and are now under delivering, under the spotlight and under pressure.

Great show of support for @lucympowell.bsky.social for Deputy Leader at Rochdale AFC

Angela Rayner gave the North West a powerful voice—Lucy’s ready to carry that torch and reconnect Labour with its membership.

Huge thanks to @elsieblundellmp.bsky.social for hosting such a brilliant event.

This is the person the Tories voted to be their leader. Their very best. And they wonder why they're in freefall. 🤦‍♂️😬
no excuse for being this bad

🟢💚 Think the Green Party is solidly left-wing? Think again.

In Hyndburn, the Greens enabled a Tory takeover. Their councillors didn’t just abstain—they struck a grubby backroom deal that handed control of the council to the Conservatives.

This is brilliant news.

But let's get it right first time.

Only lifting the cap completely will suffice. Raising it to 3 or 4 children still condemns 000s into poverty, and limiting it to working parents to drive more people into employment will not be acceptable.

100% agree with this from Bella Sankey and @thangamdebbonaire.bsky.social The Green Party are absolutely ruthless in their pursuit of power and are not our friends. Here in Hyndburn, they formed a coalition with the Tories. Green by name, chameleon by nature.

Great to meet up with my fellow @labourhousinggroup.bsky.social colleague Andy Bates today before the Accrington Stanley vs Walsall game. As members of the social housing working group, it was good to meet up in real life and discuss all things social housing.

Great to see @andyburnham.bsky.social and Lisa Nandy join Ed Miliband coming out in support of @lucympowell.bsky.social for Deputy Leader of the Labour Party 👏👏👏

Here in Hyndburn we overwhelmingly voted for @lucympowell.bsky.social to be Labour Deputy Leader at last night's CLP. A good friend of Hyndburn and a strong voice for the NW and genuine progressive change, she'll be getting my vote too 🙌
