Associate VP at Linfield University, actor rep’d by Big Fish NW Talent, dedicated rock climber and fly fisherman, proud dad.
I’ve been at Linfield University for nine years, and had the joy of working Commencement for seven of them. Some students, I remember from their first visits to campus. I saw many of them mature, grow and change. Reading their names as they cross the stage to graduate from college is a true honor.

Thanks to the magic of Trysta Kelley, I looked like a monster. Thanks to scriptwriting mind of Destin Bourdin, I was given an opportunity to bring subtlety and pathos to the grim reaper. And thanks to the efforts of producer Lianna Perry Fountain, I had a chance to do both as part of a great team. 🎬

Streamed “Saturday Night” the movie, then watched the #SNL50 special back-to-back.

Feeling a little nostalgia, and also, interestingly, a little more hope for us all.

I was fortunate to be a part of peak American #journalism -- before all the cuts and contraction. We're all worse off for the changes. But Therese was a warrior, battling at every stage to salvage what was salvageable and do right by The Oregonian's readership. 🙏

Therese Bottomly will retire from The Oregonian/OregonLive after 42 years
Born and raised in Oregon, Bottomly has championed accountability reporting and protecting access to public records and meetings for journalists statewide.

DGA and PGA wins make “Anora” the odds-on fav for the Oscar. It doesn’t deserve it. It’s not nearly the movie “Emilia Pérez” or “The Brutalist” or “Conclave” is; not even close. But controversy dogs them, so “Anora” is safer. Nobody ever accused the Academy of focusing strictly on art — or courage.

Okay, admittedly filmmaking is often a young person's game. But you know with 100% certainty that a casting notice was written by a twentysomething when:

* A male character, 50-55 years old, is listed as "elderly."
* A male character, 55-60 years old, is listed as "a kind old man."

Ouch. 🤣

If you know me, you know I love college wrestling. But it was a special honor to be on the microphone for Night at the Museum II. There's not a college wrestling venue like this anywhere else in the country.

Congratulations to nephew Jacob Lind for receiving a 2024 Citizen Life-Saving Medal from the Clark County Sheriff's Office. Proud of him, and honored to be on hand to celebrate the moment with family and friends.

I’ve seen six of the best picture nominees so far. Which one deserves to be called the year’s best picture? In order, I’d say…

1. Emilia Perez
2. Conclave
3. Anora
4. Wicked
5. Dune: Part Two
6. A Complete Unknown

STILL NEED TO SEE: The Brutalist, The Substance, Nickel Boys and I’m Still Here.

Woke up to messages this morning from friends and colleagues who noticed Trysta Kelley and yours truly as the cover models on the new OMPA newsletter. Henceforth, feel free to refer to us as “super models.”

We’re in production on the new feature “Internalized,” from director Destin Bourdin.

Feeling particularly proud of this one. Seattle-based Pyramide Productions hired four of us from Big Fish NW Talent – Sara Klein, Tyler Baumann, Greta and yours truly – for this suicide-prevention PSA. It was a treat working with the cast and crew, and it’s an important message.
