While chatting with friends in Discord yesterday, the subject of Ohm's Law vs Watts came up, along with the question, "Why is current represented as an I in Ohm's Law, but we use Ato define Watts?" Well, the answer to the latter question is that in Ohm's Law: V = IR I represents the French term for current intensité du courant, which translates literally to current intensity.
