I think bogeyman changed to boogeyman on the way across the Atlantic. "Mary in the kitchen, doin up her stitchin, in comes the bogeyman and out goes she” was a skipping rope chant when one skipper left the rope and the next one came in. No wonder we were thinner then. 😀
