COP30 in Belém, Brazil is a big deal. It marks the halfway point to 2030, when countries are expected to meet pledges made in the 2015 Paris Agreement, including that they will cut greenhouse gas emissions to ensure that temperatures do not rise more than 2°C above pre-industrial levels.
What is COP30 and why is this year's climate summit so important?
It's taking place in the Brazilian city of Belém from 10 - 21 November 2025, and is one of the biggest events in the calendar, especially for world leaders and environmental campaigners.
