Well, thanks PayPal, for tightening up your website payments security by insisting that we have to install Google ReCaptcha 3, just a few months after I'd uninstalled that in favour of Cloudflare because Google are introducing charging for ReCaptcha 3.
Thanks also for telling us about it […]

1. Some good news at last. This week’s column is about the amazing thing a couple of us stumbled into three years ago, which we’ve now developed into a global research programme. It doesn’t change everything, of course, but it could help change quite a lot. + 🧵 www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Happy St Andrew's Day to all. This statue of him in his little-known dragon slayer mode is in the war memorial garden next to Kelso Abbey. It is actually on the male dragon current of the Holy Axis, which runs between the Farne Islands and Iona. #StAndrew #dragons #holyaxis #dowsing

This anthem, originally written as a hymn by Horatius Bonar in 1860, was rearranged by John Tams for The Big Picnic in 1994. He subsequently also used it in National Theatre's War Horse. This was one of my early shows as a freelancer (you'll see my name come up in the credits). #onlyremembered […]

Thanks Microsoft - I've been trying for months to get Win 11 update to stop showing the red exclamation mark and actually *do* updates. In desperation, I tried resetting the PC this morning (making sure I checked the 'keep data' option). There was a warning saying that around ten of my apps […]
