"Americans broadly understood how much their 1930 tariff, along with other protectionist and isolationist measures, did to turn a global economic crisis into another world war. Thirteen successive presidents all but vowed never to repeat those mistakes. Until Donald Trump”

From a security standpoint, IMO, there is far more harm than benefit to disappearing messages. It creates a far more enticing environment for manipulation. There is a reason Snapchat is heavly used in child trafficing. Outside of being in an abusive relationship, I see NO BENEFIT.

Disappearing messages is a bad thing.

I personally wouldn’t go that far. I think you have to be educated enough to discern opinion from fact and be able to do your own research. If you only subscribed to one paper, it would be the same issue 🙃

And it ins't like the account was inacctive, she was playing Fortnite two weeks before they deleted her account, she was always logged into her email on her phone. DO BETTER @microsoft.com. You could have archived the emails for a period of time after just to ensure thigns like this didn't happen...

All of the friends my daughter had on there, all of the time she spent building in minecraft, or leveling with friends in Fortnite, etc, just gone. The school stuff and other online account she had tied to it are gone.

"There is nothing we can do, it has been deleted and cannot be reused" No reimbursement for the money spent on Xbox games or the remainder of the Xbox live subscription my daughter had. @microsoft.com is just saying "Oh well, you didn't respond to the email and its not our fault *points at FTC*...

And what happened if the parents didn't reauthorize the childs email account within a given time frame? @microsoft.com deleted it... Why is this a big deal? Well, a lot of parents didn't receive this email and now kids like my daughter that have Xbox or other services tied to their email are gone.
