Trash. In the yogurt container or some such and then the spoon and the container get thrown out. We have lost many many spoons this way :)

Same reason you would do it in a gym while walking at 2 mph on a treadmill. Narcissism.

Stainless steel and soap? Takes away the smell pretty well.
