I Think it has more to do with speculation than actual sales. Sure, the odd sale from a fasc does help (in the pennies they'll get), but if it produces buzz/interest amongst the entrenched wealth, the day-traders, etc, then it's a win for that company.

I live in my parents basement. Directly underneath them. With no soundproofing. So to answer the question, I try "VERY" hard to ignore it.

Some covert defense ideas: get heavily into sewing, or get some airsoft/motorcycle gear to help soften some of the blows like blunt trauma, metal encased in rubber ballistae, etc.

Awesome! Honestly, I see things only progressively getting worse in the future climate-wise, so using hydroponics inside stores would help mitigate some of the damage, especially in food deserts.
