Backposting some of the work I did for the @gnomonschool.bsky.social animation courses. This is the goblin character designed for animation tests. Originally named Edsel after the failed car but that name went stale on me and I haven't picked a new one yet. She is the namesake of my account.

The sketches include 5 turnaround angles in different poses: straight on in a neutral portrait pose, 3/4 looking eager with hands rubbing together, profile acting coy, 3/4 back stretching to write on a chalkboard above her, and straight back holding her yardstick behind her neck across her shoulders. There are also five expressions: mouth wide open baring teeth but non-threateningly, jocular conversation, fear, rage, and goggles-on welding.

Character reference of "Turquoise Flannery: Animal Whisperer", a redhead with wild hair, an oversized sweater, a long layered skirt, and other bohemian accessories. She has a possum best friend named Seamus perched on her shoulder and a fanny pack full of crystals.

Second, some kind of big guardian golem or something. Shooting for a sort of Fromsoft boss concept.
