Mugimaki Flycatcher Yes, it was named after that well known Japanese motorbike company 'Meguroki' because it sounds like a motorbike starting up But they got the spelling wrong and Mugimaki it stayed.

3 times that Ive visited Thailand before I've never connected with 2 species no matter hard I tried I got them both on the same day in Bangkok! Orange-headed Thrush and Forest Wagtail thanks to Smarthi Chong and Derreck Lim Also, a Yellow Bittern showed off it's fishing technique.

I've been in Oman 11 days & on my first day I discovered 2 Wire-tailed Swallow at Khawr Taqa. Maybe less than 15 records for Oman. 3 day ago turned up Asian Koel at nearby Taqa Park. The 2 Eye-browed Thrushes from last year were still present at Qatbit Motel. Only the 5th records for Oman!

After not connecting with them on my travels, today I finally got to see my first Alpine Accentor on the Old Japanese Trail Almaty Kazakhstan!!! 3 in total! 5 Black-throated Accentor on the same trail were also a tick! More pics on blog scillyspider2.wordpress.com

1st visit to Palestine I met Mahammad & Israeli mother and son All chatted together about the two state solution which of course was never gona happen then never mind now The whole thing was a myth Netanyahu never wanted it to happen in the first place He wants a Greater Israel and so far so good!

Leave Scilly arrive @ Aktau Kazakhstan and on your 1st days birding what do you go and do, twitch a Ring-billed Gull and it was more or less the first bird I saw of note!! Back for its 3rd winter.
