The animals are Paleocampa, Nektognathus, Wudingloong, and Mirasaura
Paleocampa, a spiny worm from the Carboniferous crawling in a muddy sunlit river bed, is disyrurbed by a larger animal and releases toxins from its hollow quills as a defense. Paleocampa was first described in 1865 as a caterpillar, then a millipede then a fireworm, and has recently been redescrobed as a venomous freshwater lobopodian, an umbrella term for soft leggy worms distantly related to arthropods velvet worm and tardigtadres Nektognathus an aquatic gnathiferan worm related to modern arrow worms chases a shoal of early arthropods, Isoxys, through the deep Cambrian ocean. The dark water is peppered with marine snow and bioluminescent plankton. The small segmented bug in the corner is the predatory arthropod Kiisortoqia. My main regret is not making the fins of Nektognathus undulate and flutter Two early sauropodomorph dinosaurs,Wudingloong, chilling. One is standing normally while the other is resting up showing his cool arms. A small reptile, Mirasaura , with a sail of feathers on its back basks in the sun resting on a fern. The sun shines through its sail. Mirasaura is a bizzare Triassic reptile called a drepanosaur and their “feathers” appeared millions of years before birds
