Interesting study & methodology, even though even as early as 1950 Dianetics was showing quite regularly that people absolutely can remember their infancy, and most anyone with small children will have their kids tell you stories about things that happened when they were babies.

Precisely. People like Barnes-Ross who stalk women at their church, get kicked out because of such, and then go on a nonstop attack spree definitely need to be exposed for what they are.

No surprises in the article because it was a planned, bigoted hit piece that they colluded on for six months.

Of course @shantidas.bsky.social doesn't disclose that she worked on this hit piece for SIX MONTHS with Barnes-Ross, and gave the Church of Scientology ONE DAY to respond to a 17-question "opportunity for comment" before publishing. www.freedommag.org/news/alex-ba...
Alex Barnes-Ross Accidentally Reveals He and Reporter Shanti Das Colluded for Months to Smear the Church
Barnes-Ross’ brain-dead video admission he and Das planned an attack for months kills Das’ reputation—even as she admits in print she can’t prove anything she claims.

My dad is a staff member at the DC church, I assure you it's stuff like people reading books, people getting counseling, and people eating snacks

I'm curious what you did during those two minutes. That's literally enough time to say hello to a receptionist and walk forward into the lobby.

According to my daughter, that'd be Facebook

More than just like, COMMENTS. The biggest thing that gets people wanting to interact with a platform, is when they feel like real-life people have understood & have something to say about their content.

That style of balaclava has served us well for all the kids - both for winter biking and for skiing, as it fits below the ski helmet too. We just call them Baklavas and tell the kids to put on their tasty greek desserts before going out.

I just got back from Berlin where I spent a week there for work, and rode bikes around the city every day. It's a truly magical city - felt much more like a massive collection of small German towns side-by-side than a big city. But goodness, the number of families biking around together was lovely.

Though the example will continue to come up, and even trying to lean into 'dirty laundry' as you note runs the risk of forwarding deliberate misinformation campaigns about religious movements, which makes your Operation Snow White ref apropos. www.standleague.org/resources/wh...

There's a huge difference though between proselytizing and a comparative religion course to give our future generations religious literacy. Christianity, Buddhism, Shintoism, Scientology, it's all a part of our world, and folks should understand the morals and motivations of those around them.

I grew up in Maine, and unfortunately our school buses had chains and bus drivers of fortitude, so we very rarely got the snow days off school I thought we should get.

Well, sorry that you based your life decisions on 5 supposed facts that are all incorrect. And I do have significantly more than 2 years of experience working on IAS-funded campaigns. Hope you enjoy your life, but spreading falsehoods about people of good will isn't helping anyone.
