Yep, my best advice right now would be networking and talking to people

The job market right now is absolutely appalling so I wouldn't recommend trying to change careers unless you had a good route into something else

Staying in a stressful job is the worst thing you can do, because the consequences of that can be...very bad

So that would be your first step is to honestly assess your current job/career

While I'm sure it's not really this simple, the following might help:

If current job is merely dull/tedious and not going anywhere but is reasonably secure and pays OK - stick with it

If current job is *stressful* and changing employers wouldn't help - would suggest a career change

I can see why they've not done anything with it yet, but also the longer they leave it the greater the risk of it completely breaking apart and that could spell KABOOM
