Recently retired scientist. Still adjusting.
I want to understand…everything.
And I make stuff.
But guess what? All of that requires the best brains and a lot of resources.
Soon neither of which will be in the United States.
We will remain the world leader in things that go “boom“, but basic research? Innovation? Medical advances?
We’re hemorrhaging talent.
Why would they want to come back?

I am so jealous. I did 25 years in molecular biology starting back in the early days over the field. The technology today makes me feel like we were working with rocks and dull sticks.
Medically, we are at the inflection point of an exponential explosion of novel treatments, and potential cures.

Not typically proponent of violence, but this should’ve been beat out of him in about the seventh grade.

The bitterness is just dripping through every syllable. He knows he’s a fraud. Deep down in his bones he knows it.

He also knows he’s probably gonna get away with it, because he always has.

Of course he knew. He said himself that Epstein liked “beautiful women almost as much as I do, some of them on the younger side”.
He absolutely knew, and did nothing.

I must’ve watched this a dozen times and the heartache gives me to go from that to this current insanity is just brutal.
November 12, 2025 at 5:17 PM
Wait, are they actually selling sponsorships for official reports? Admittedly that would be 100% consistent.
“ today is state of the union address is bought to you by KY jelly, because with the Trump economic policies, you’re gonna want more lube”
November 12, 2025 at 2:06 AM
Meanwhile, trump just surprised a dressing room full of miss teen USA contestants.

The Republican platform, circa 2025.
Perpetual debt. From cradle to grave.

You know they’re gonna roll this nonsense out for both cars and mortgages with some sort of “no money down” option.

Because 2008 was so long ago…
November 11, 2025 at 8:31 PM
Remember an algebra class when they introduced the concept of “imaginary numbers“?
Trump‘s mastery of rectal statistics takes that to a new level.
November 11, 2025 at 6:33 AM
I worked my entire career up to my ass in PhD‘s. Some were indeed, brilliant, some were… not.
I remember showing a PhD candidate how to use a drill to assemble a sampler we were using.
You’ve thought I handed him a live snake.
His family were academics. Don’t think he’d touched a tool in his life.
November 10, 2025 at 11:58 PM
Whereas some of the Epstein files will be released, much of the most damning will be hidden “to protect the victims”.
This is the Republicans opportunity to sever the Trump umbilical.

Sad fact is they weren’t going to cave. Ever. Gutting the ACA was the priority. Regardless of what pain it took.
November 10, 2025 at 5:09 AM
Now that the pubs have effectively neutered the ACA, their endgame since the day it passed, trump is no longer a value. In fact, he’s now a millstone
I think Trump resigns for “health“ reasons, is pardoned by Vance, who appoints a female Republican VP and that is the new opposition for the midterms.
November 10, 2025 at 5:09 AM
I came to accept this a couple of days ago. This was their one and only opportunity to destroy the ACA. They were gonna do whatever it took.

Keeping in mind their control over the communications media, it was simply going to inflict pain and not change a single vote.

“Victory in the war against chem trails!!”

Spin incoming in five, four, three…
November 9, 2025 at 9:33 PM
It’s not just that it won’t improve, it’s going to get far worse as we shift decision-making to AI.
Related to, but even worse than, Musk‘s insane willingness to sacrifice human lives on the altar of self-driving cars.
Cars are much less complicated to operate than planes.
November 9, 2025 at 5:00 PM
I’m sure it’s available with no money down and a special discount for the first year or two, then you can refinance before the giant balloon payment comes due…

Because it worked so well in 2008, the first time we finked around with standard home ownership.

Liar
November 9, 2025 at 1:23 AM
Which meshes well with the abolishment of Social Security, in that you’ll have to work well into your 70s to pay off your mortgage.
Insanity.
November 8, 2025 at 10:08 PM
It’s not about the deportation, it’s about the detentions.
Big, big $$$ made every time they detain anyone and it’s paid on a daily basis.
Detention centers are cash cows.
November 8, 2025 at 5:42 PM
The reorganization of the global market with the United States on the periphery will hurt US citizens for decades.

We’re not hot enough for the level of crazy we bring to the table.
November 8, 2025 at 4:32 PM
“And Mexico will pay for it… “

You ever wonder what it would’ve been like living under one of those sixth generation inbred kings back in medieval times? With their random insane proclamations?

We’re there.
November 8, 2025 at 4:27 PM
Deliberately.
With an understanding of the consequences.
And a sociopathic lack of empathy.
November 8, 2025 at 7:54 AM
Republicans understand this is their single shot at effectively terminating Obamacare. They likely will never have another opportunity.
Complete moral degeneracy at the top coupled with weakening control of both houses.
It’s now or never.
Dems better understand that too.
November 8, 2025 at 6:12 AM
The endgame is it this is the Republicans only shot at completely destroying the ACA.
They’ve tried for a decade now unsuccessfully. They whittled away at the mandate which wounded it. Getting rid of the subsidies effectively unalives it.
