Alpha servers were red (became Darktide), blue (became Frostfell) and green (became Leafcull). Our group was on green and all went to Leafcull. I tried Darktide a few times during the "camp the spawn in" era, never stayed:)

My first alpha was Asheron's Call. LOVED that game:)

No clue, I am not a coder. I was just there in alpha and most of the devs played along side us. A few were very open about what was going on behind the scenes.

The original devs were warned not to use Cryengine because it wasn't suited to an MMO. It resulted in a lot of spaghetti code to force it to do what they wanted. Ever wondered why when they fixed one bug it broke a bunch of other things? Now you know:)

It was mismanaged by Amazon from the start. Played from alpha till a few years ago. Their biggest mistake was using Crysis engine as the basis for Lumberyard.
