Would've liked the narrative to be less forgiving of Eilonwy--she's more princess than person--but recognize this is outside the scope of an otherwise lovely story of growing up.

More than that, I adored the strong (and relentless! There is no excusing the slightest cruelty or selfishness for Taran) moral core, especially in the last two books.
