I noted a passage in The Grey King where an agent of good dismisses concerns that ordinary people will suffer in the struggle between good and evil. If the Light is truly powerful and all good, why can't it avoid doing harm?

Fun mythological tie-ins, though. Love its approach to the parent problem.

Apollo Justice remains my best boy of everything ever. Never enough love for this toxic positivity short king with ten thousand backstories.

Taran Wanderer was a particular favorite. I have a soft spot for stories of people who, try as they might, fail anyway.

Would've liked the narrative to be less forgiving of Eilonwy--she's more princess than person--but recognize this is outside the scope of an otherwise lovely story of growing up.

--sometimes to the point of making the pacing too brisk for an adult reader; I wish I could remember what it was like as a child.

More than that, I adored the strong (and relentless! There is no excusing the slightest cruelty or selfishness for Taran) moral core, especially in the last two books.

Although I must admit, as someone who regularly performs translation sprints, I was continuously amused at and distracted by the timeline. Two-ish months to translate an 800+ page book? And you still have the time for all these other shenanigans? Hahaha.

Oh ho, interesting! I'll have to check it out.

This is me every time I set out to marry a challenge character in a SoS game and inevitably fall in love with one of the regular candidates.

How is Grand Bazaar? Do you recommend it?

However, I was delighted to find that Link's writing was even better than I remembered it to be. YA fantasy romance usually does very little for me, so it was such a treat to enjoy this genre through Link's style. What strong, well-crafted prose and sharp narrative voice. Just so well done.
