I'm a little sad to lose Bastián’s inner thoughts but I don't want to do a dual perspective. I didn't establish that in the first one and these are not nearly long enough works to justify needing multiple perspectives in one (imo). And if I don't like it, I can always switch it back to B's.

Or take the feedback and put it in your voice. A good editor shouldn't say to lose your voice but to refine it. Mostly I'm embarrassed when I get editing feedback on how I missed simple things. That's not pleasant either. But that's what editing is there for; no one else has to see those mistakes.

I understand where the dread of editing comes from. I know it can be a fear of changing a piece of art you worked so hard on into something unrecognizable. I've over edited before trying to appease all feedback. Didn't like the result and learned that you don't have to take all feedback.

To me, it's like doing the underlying sketch drawing. You keep the framework, draw the confident outlines, erase the lines that were just there to guide you, and refine the details. You wouldn't present the rough sketch as a finished work so why do it with writing?
