I assigned an excerpt from The Graveyard Book this year, so things have changed. My advanced students are reading The Hunger Games and Beasts of Prey.

In any form into kids is perfect. I am a teacher and I recommend parents finding magazines and biographies about things their kids are interested in like sports and history, Manga and graphic novels, audiobooks. Anything to get them reading.

Check and see if your public library has an app for books. Mine does. You can check out books, magazines, audiobooks, everything. Also, our school has an app that links to the public library app that is easy and free for students. They don’t even need a card. Also co-signing that getting a book

Just joined today. 8th grade ELA teacher here who has students reading Beasts of Prey. They are loving it! One told me she is making her parents read it too! I can’t wait for the third book.
