“Forget it, Jake. It’s Chinatown.”
I want to knit this sweater. Judging by the sweatband she’s wearing, I’m going to guess 1984 or 1985.

This may me tear up (for real). Sesame Street was a beacon of light in America post-Civil Rights Act of 1964.

I’m 49 yrs old and grew up with Sesame Street. I recently read ‘Sunny Days: The Children’s Television Revolution that Changed America’ by David Kamp.

What a loss. What an embarrassment.

Sticking with the 80s theme, I have my pre-study hype music, and hot tea.

Going ALL the way back to 1983 with my current post-study audiobook:

Wow. Hard to believe I was 7 yrs old when this book was released. Good times.

Tonight’s vintage #MovieNight pick is “Battle of the Sexes” (2017).

Not exactly vintage but it’s about the 1973 tennis match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs so I’m counting it.

I’ll be visiting 1970 for a good, long while.

Next up is “Deliverance” (1970) by James Dickey.

Yes, THAT Deliverance. The movie adaptation that frightened my mom so much in 1972, that to this day, she’ll never watch it again.

Sometimes I find the neatest books at the thrift store.

The U.S. Army Total Fitness Program was published in 1985.

I’d love to create a modern version of this living room(?) rec room(?) from 1977 😍

Honestly, I would keep a lot of it the same design, just update the colour palette and materials.

I’m going way back to 1970 with my latest audiobook listen:

“The Blessing Way” (Leaphorn & Chee, #1) by Tony Hillerman

Working on my revised 1970s reading list while listening to a more modern detective story.

I bought this book on a whim at the thrift store for $6.99. Worth every penny.

Very interesting read tho’ I admit I’m not always swayed on certain topics. For instance, I’m not really a fan of Gertrude Stein & Alice B. Toklas.

Still, I am very much enjoying this book.

If you’re looking for something to read this spring and fascism is relevant to your interests these days, may I recommend “The Dark Heart of Italy” (2003) by Tobias Jones?

This is how I saw your post. Now, is the cat breaking the law or enforcing the law?

Library was closed early so I detoured to the thrift store and found this little gem on Mexican sweets & desserts.

Adding it to my left coast, best coast collection.

Gen-X timeline cleanse.

The hair. The woman. The icon.

Moving on, by the numbers.

Two books, and one movie (for vintage #MovieNight)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 for ‘1960: LBJ vs. JFK vs. Nixon: The Epic Campaign that Forged Three Presidencies’ (2020) by David Pietrusza

Fair and balanced, entertaining, and occasionally slyly funny.

Didn’t give it 5 stars b/c the book doesn’t seem to add any new information so ultimately, what’s the point?

I want to build something like this but a bed instead of a sofa.

I think I will this summer.

I know you always see Riker, my male ginger cat, but I also have a female black cat named Deanna Troi.
