Moulton: He doesn’t have any sons or daughters who served in the military after 9/11. If just one of them had signed up, maybe he would know that we served on the ground alongside Canadian troops, French troops, troops from the UK, the Danes, the Poles—And you know, they lost a lot of lives there

Being a historian, people ask me if I think the US is living through Germany 1933.

I answer no, analogies are always imperfect but to me it feels more like Russia 1999: a blatant theft of state assets and liberals in a fugue state, refusing to believe the arc of progress is bending against them.

Ditto: Private oligarchs are seizing individual choice and power. Ripping it right from the ballot box. Did anyone else see Musk stemming at the inauguration? Eventually, an entity may be able to stop the Donald, but stopping a neurodivergent like Musk will come at a big price if it comes at all.

11/9/2016.
That's the day I woke up & my first thought was, how am I supposed to think about Russia now? My whole life, Russia was the enemy, but on 11/9/2016, they became a strange bed fellow.

Of all the areas of govt that need shutting down, the Electoral College should be on that list.
