Kruder & Dorfmeister Sessions at Heidelberg Congress Center today simply legendary! K&D haven't lost any of their vibe after all these years.

Couple of days in London.
Evening run to Waterloo Bridge, city lights across the Thames, skyline glowing. Worth every mile.

Summertime is reading time. I picked up The Code by Margaret O’Mara unpacking the DNA of #SiliconValley, a mix of VC, #entrepreneurship, networking, refusal to stand still and a skepticism toward state control paradoxically paired with a constant flow of government funding.

Great to sense so much startup and wake-up spirit at #TECH2025 in #Heilbronn last week. Also happy to see Germany finally has a federal minister of digital modernization. Nothing specifically new in Karsten Wildberger's speach but well received anyway.

This is a once in a lifetime photograph of Heidelberg I took 4 years ago, the hour before curfew. Seems like a lifetime ago.

Spent a week in my Italian Mountain View a few days back — rain below, snow in the clouds at 2000 m, hot lunch in cozy rifugio. Magical. Used the time building AI agents, experimenting with tools like Manus, Langflow, Bolt. The next big disruption isn’t coming — it’s already here.

Today taking a long sunny walkrun (wogging?) from Heiligkreuzsteinach to Heidelberg after starting my Sunday with a good read of Talcott Parsons and Balzac, refilling for an exciting week with workshops, great conversations and get stuff done - and coming over last week's parliamentary turbulences.

Starting off the year at #APE, the International Conference Academic Publishing in Europe, being on the panel "Breaking Out of the Publishing Straightjacket: Rethinking Scholarly Outputs" moderated by Roger Schonfeld. Iconic State Council Building in Berlin Mitte.

Just back from Italian Alps (footage from Cascate di Val Vertova) to celebrate the new year with my family.

Happy New Year!

The Warsaw Uprising began 80 years ago. I recently read Roman Bratny's great novel "Kolumbus Jahrgang 20" describing the uprising from the perspective of Polish youth. Another lost generation.

Thinking of the German brutality, I can understand why many Poles are still demanding reparations today.

Heidelberg and the Neckar valley flooded. There are areas in Germany that are hit worse. I still hope that politics, science, business, and the world's population will manage to avert the worst consequences of climate change.

Always glad to have time for reflection at my habitat in the Italian Alps. At this gorgeous place I always feel like it's day one.

Wonderfully fresh up here at one thousand meters above Bergamo. Our retreat, all the better during carnival week.

This is our #MountainView.

Magnificent Lyonel Feininger exhibition at the #Schirn in Frankfurt. Bright, transparent colors and, of course, the cathedral from the #Bauhaus manifesto.

Magnificent ballet "Tchaikovsky's Worlds" at the Theater im Pfalzbau in Ludwigshafen last night. What a wonderful art.

A month ago already that I've been in China. Walking on Shanghai's Nanjing Road to the Bund and train from Shanghai to Beijing in 4,5 hours exciting.
