Support by the UC PPFP helped me establish my lab at UCLA and provided me with resources that have allowed us to take risks--risks that are now paying off. This program helps retain excellent scientists and scholars at the UC who are leaders in their field. It helps set the UCs apart. 2/2

I think mail in ballots can be counted up to 29 days in advance, but not reported until at least 8 pm...so we've got a while to wait haha

I usually donate to a local food bank (I support financially, as they can use this to buy food in bulk or fresh foods) around Thanksgiving. I encourage you, if you can, to also support efforts to provide Thanksgiving meals to people who might otherwise miss out.

I grew up Catholic, going to Catholic schools. And one thing I learned is that Jesus instructed us to feed the hungry, and help those if we can. (anyone can learn this without going to church but given what some “proudly Catholic” people are doing i wanted to point this out)

We have to take joy where we can find it and hold onto our accomplishments and not let our pride in our work be stolen from us!

I switched to in class assignments that students turn in. For exams they can have a handwritten “cheat sheet”. I use canvas for posting my lecture slides and grade keeping, otherwise it’s all paper. I like it much better and myself and the TAs aren’t grading AI.
