Interesting stuff! I started off with James and then C. I. Lewis, Peirce, and Rorty in undergrad, then Dewey later through the Habermas. The Germans are great readers of the pragmatist tradition IMO.

My dissertation work has me stitching together ideas from both "sides" and it is honestly so awesome. Totally self-defeating to be partisan about this IMHO.

Yes and not to mention that it leaves out the entirety of non-Western philosophy, as well as American Pragmatism, and further differentiation within the Western tradition itself.
