Sure, maybe I should go to AWP next year because I’m doing an MFA and am hoping to sell my proposal later this year, but the most motivating thing for me in going to Baltimore is the almost non-existent but not impossible chance of running into these legends

Indianapolis is having an indie book crawl this weekend. I went to my local shop this morning and bought Empathy Exams for someone to claim. A few people liked that so donated some money for me to buy some of my favorite books for people to go in and claim. Here’s the stack:

Obviously there’s no money in the humanities but I want there to be an English Lit version of nonfiction (that isn’t writing) so bad. Media studies, I guess? Maybe that’s what’s next for me?

Favorite thing I’ve read so far this year. This chapter is on mental illness and the fear of losing your mind and gothic representations of that horror, specifically with Haunting of Hill House (show and book)

Is there any academic books on the black market for diabetes meds and supplies? I’ve seen fliers posted all over Chicago about buying supplies, and I feel like this a part of our for profit healthcare system that needs more exploring (or I haven’t found the research)
