Anyone know anything about #lithops ? One of mine is currently weirdly colored (lithops bromfieldii rubroroseus). It’s getting watered, but no fertilizer right now cuz winter. Dirt does have sand in it, and it’s about 2” tall.

Is it really?
Beige, round rock. It is flecked with darker brown spots, reminiscent of a bird’s egg. Beige, round rock, from another ‘side’. This side exhibits black streaks of something across the face.

Also in personal rock news, I brought home these two babies:
A Dugway geode, found in Utah; and a chalcedony nodule from Brazil
Image of a cut geode, formally known as a Dugway Geode, found in Utah. It has several pockets of druzy quartz, and the rest of the body is striated brown and gray. A chalcedony nodule, cut in half, exposing a brown interior with the formation of small crystals (perhaps quartz). There are green and yellow splotches in several places. The whole affair looks like a set of lungs.

This is my largest piece of #quartz, and Wonder Woman to provide scale (she’s 12”). I call it Monster. Quartz comes in so many different varieties, & is our most common mineral. And there’s so many uses for quartz! #mincup23
