What is "fun?" No, seriously, I'm trying to understand how it works.
Software engineer. Tom Clancy's The Division 2 enjoyer. She/her.
This post made me think that maybe he dropped a new video. Now I'm sad. 😟

So I think in a way we need to address this weird dread inducing way we look at Math in our society.

As I look back, I realized, I would struggle and become demoralized when seeing the other kids who "just got it." All the while, not realizing that they might have been struggling too, or had extra help in the form of a parent or tutor.

In the US, I'd say we have a big false dichotomy problem with math (and by extension tech) that says you're either a "math person" or you're not. So by a young age you just stop trying.

It's like we are brought up to believe everyone is either John Nash or someone who can barely comprehend Algebra.

As someone who went into tech as a career later in live (even though I was always very comfortable with computers growing up), this was the case for me.

If anyone had asked me in high school, my first thought would have been "well, I have a hard time in math classes, so no."

Boo.

I've also been sourcing components over time for a new AMD build and I just checked the RAM (Corsair Vengeance). Probably will still work with AMD, but clearly it prioritizes Intel overclocking profile out of the box.

Boo!

Yikes! I know motherboards target DDR generations, and I think I hear someone mention the "settling" thing one. But I've never heard of RAM kits being bound to CPU platforms. Which RAM kit is it?

Yet another thing we lost with brick and mortar bookstores: If you have to walk past other genre sections to get to what you want, sooner or later curiosity is going to get the best of you and you'll try something new.

everyone pooling their money together, then that limits their ability to scale back.

Definitely going to keep any key on this, though. (3/3)

However, I do think their price points are a little high for what the market will bear. It's tricky though. I don't know the financials of the deal, but if is was a case of... (2/3)

I'm always happy when creators regain creative freedom either by diversifying away from a single mega platform or outright buying their freedom back, so I'm pulling for them. (1/3)

They don't have plans currently, but I'm sure they have concepts of a plan.

Cons:
* Higher cognitive load for professor at the end of term
* Students may complain
* Admin may cave to complaints

Does this seem workable?
May 7, 2025 at 10:59 PM
* During the exam, professors can drill down based on the students responses to see if they understand the material and have sound reasoning for their thesis
* Use AI to generate a transcript. The Prof uses this to grade the exam against a rubic (i.e. the prof has time to reflect and evaluate) (2/3)

Hi, I don't know anything about TTRPG, but I'm curious:

In the scenario you describe do you all just call an end to the game, or do the other 4 people create new level 1 characters and they play on with the higher level mage?

What gets me are the ones who get off on the idea of the downfall of the "journos" and act like they are an alternative.

But I'm sitting there thinking "this is just as shallow as the major outlets you critcize. You do the same, but just in a different editorial direction and with more jokes" 🤷🏾‍♀️

I agree.

The Escapist -> Second Wind seems like a good blueprint (not without its own problems, but they are still kicking).

Definitely not easy, an probably not viable as sole income for the whole team in the short term. But brand recognition is high and they probably entice people to follow.
