Intersectionality isn't the view that people can experience several forms of oppression at once. It's instead the claim that the intersection between multiple oppressive structures create outcomes that are greater than the sum of their parts. This is called an emergent property in systems theory.

Is frustrating when people use being initially bad at writing or drawing as a reason to use AI. This ignores two things:
(1) a core aspect of getting good at a skill is doing it badly over and over again.
(2) often the joy of creation is its own reward (irrespective of whether it's good or not).

It's a mistake to hope that institutions like distant elections or the current legal system will stop Trump. These are, or rest on, the very institutions that Trump is actively undermining, eroding and destroying at a very rapid pace. Mass direct action needs to happen fast before it's too late.

One of the negative impacts of AI companies screwing over artists is that it's led people to frame intellectual property rights as progressive, rather than a terrible institution based on state violence that protects corporate monopolies, stifles innovation, and stops the spread of knowledge.

The idea that America has always been fascist isn't just inaccurate. It also makes it easy to underestimate the threat that Trump poses and view him as just more of the same. America is currently on track to become significantly worse than just an oligarchical republic with structural racism.

The distinction between skilled vs unskilled labour shouldn't be viewed as just a capitalist lie to justify paying people less. In the 19th century it was central to socialist critiques of capitalism because factory workers were compelled to perform the same mind numbing task over and over again.

I sometimes see cis-women misunderstand male socialization as resulting in men just not expressing the feelings they have. It's actually much worse. Men often prevent themselves from feeling the emotions at all. They repress and cut themselves off from fundamental parts of who they are.

I watched the substance last night and I just can't stop thinking about how stupid it would be to not respect the balance. If I took the substance, one week I would be my normal ugly self with all my good qualities, and then the next week I would be hot hot hole. There's no contradiction
