UCSD is the only UC campus to restock on military-grade lethal ammunition for *campus* police.

This is highly concerning.

The similarities are striking. The difference is is that our voters and politicians have no excuse of not have a historical frame of reference.

Hitler's version of the Nazi party won out by persuading the Catholic wing of being granted protection and their desires.

Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) agrees.

It's past time to impeach the President due to his complete disregard of our Constitutional democracy and the welfare of our nation.

Rep. Massie seems to agree (R-KY)

We need to be vocal to stand up for our colleagues and students who are Chinese nationals.

The analogue NIH & FBI China Initiatives have led to numerous false accusations of US profs with familial ties to China, which resulted in ruined careers and, in at least one case, suicide.

(via dynamic gait analysis).

Further studies are needed to assess the performance of this conduit design for wider defect sites in larger animal models. We hypothesize that the effect of the enhanced vascularization found in the micro-porous conduits will be more pronounced. 5/n

Both conduit design variants (w/ & w/o micropores) resulted in functional nerve regeneration in a mouse sciatic nerve model (via CMAP electrophys) on par with the clinical standard surgical intervention, a reverse polarity autograft. Further, both conduits led to recovery of bulk motor function. 4/n

recently been commercialized as the Cellink Bionova X). This DMD-based system is able to achieve up to 1um xy resolution.

We designed a conduit with dense hexagonal microchannels for axon guidance and explored including orthogonal, patterned micropores to enhance extraneural vascularization. 3/n

We set out to develop a synthetic nerve guidance conduit that can effectively result in functional motor nerve regeneration by material properties alone, namely microtopology and stiffness.

We were able to achieve this using the Chen lab's custom-designed RaPID bioprinting system (which has

I'm happy to share the first pre-print from the Shaochen Chen lab!

A major obstacle in translating engineered nerve guidance conduits from the lab to the clinic is the inclusion of biologics such as bioactive molecules and cells, which results in a device with the highest FDA regulatory burden. 1/n

Americans dared to have a government and society that strove to work for everyone.

These people spit on the ideals of the Declaration of Independence and the modern Constitution.

Science is only as good as the people undertaking it.
