If money was truly no object, I would buy the life-sized Sephiroth statue that used to be in the Square-Enix store in Tokyo. He has to be somewhere, dammit!

And it was touching for multiple people to compliment both my work ethic and positive energy, telling me that I'm already a valued member of the team.

At the end of the night, my boss insisted that I deserved something special for a successful first gala - so she ensured I got a unique souvenir.

I haven't talked too much about my new job since it is A Lot to handle mentally & I'm keeping a level of confidentiality around it because it is at a children's hospital.

But, I consider it a sign that I made the right choice when my boss brings me pride cookies to congratulate me on my 1st month.

I also had to capture some of the amazing art installed all around the State House. I adore stained glass and the building features beautiful statement windows. And I loved all the different murals around the state house, like this one by Edward Brodney.

All in all, it was an amazing tour! (3/3)

We also visited the Senate Chamber, and I loved the quote choice. I also enjoyed seeing the State Library as it is part of the 1895 addition designed by Charles Brigham, one of my favorite architects. We were also allowed to get an amazing view of Boston Commons from the central balcony. (2/3)

I wanted to share photos from my trip to the MA State House this week. My family and I were invited on a private, guided tour, so we were allowed to go onto the floor of the House Chamber and take photos. I made sure to include the Sacred Cod! (1/3)

On a day trip with family and we all had to pack a picnic lunch. So I packed my new bento box with little treats on the top layer and more traditional home-cooked Japanese food on the bottom. I'm really happy with how it turned out - especially the tuna mayo onigiri.

I had my customary birthday sushi already, so here's a photo of the amazing chirashi sushi I enjoyed this year.

(For context - I did an Irish Pub birthday once when I was younger, but have since decided that I prefer to get treated to a delicious, chill sushi experience instead.)
