Refugee from Twitter, arrived aboard a small boat. On the beach in the East Riding of Yorkshire and ready to hoist the sail and clear off out at the first sign of trouble. Not many harbours of refuge since Brexit - where to go?
The difficulty lies not with self serving autocrats like Farage or Trump. It lies with us, the electorate. We are the ones responsible for putting tyrants in positions of power. Yelling abuse at politicians does no good at all.

Not sure about that - opinion polls suggest that there's a growing sense of regret among those who voted to leave the EU. Increasingly, young people reaching voting age see their opportunities diminished by restriction of movement. And older people, who tended to vote leave, are dying out.

Talk of rejoining is futile. We are now much further beyond the frontiers of Europe than we were in the 70s, when Edward Heath finally succeeded in overcoming De Gaulle's suspicions of the British and intransigent refusal to allow us into the Common Market. A long, weary road stretches ahead.

I think the decisive votes cast in 2016 were motivated by a sense of grievance, to piss Cameron off and cause mischief. It was all just for a laugh. That’s the way England rolls.

Here's Farage with the Russian Ambassador. Both expressed delight after the Brexit vote, especially the Russian, who said that Britain had been brought to its knees, and would not rise again for a very long time.
