A little progress on the inn. I have managed to get the top floors cut in and have made a start on the roof.

I could have just used cardboard & tiles, but I wanted to try and keep it looking as immersive as I could.

It's pretty tall on top of the sewer base!

Haha! No blacked out windows on this one, thankfully.

I'll be doing a full interior, so I'm hoping it won't be too difficult to get my hands/paintbrush in at each level. Although some parts will need to be painted before being permanently fixed in place.

I think I've finished adding all the balsa wood. Just some thinner supports to add for the porch and jettied section, with 3mm basswood.

I'm looking forward to to getting some bricks on this thing, but I'm hoping I don't have to cut out much of the balsa wood to fit the chimney in!

Slowly working my way up the building with the balsa wood. I have lots more beams, cross-braces, supports and trims to put in yet, as well as the whole front porch (and one entire wall I somehow missed 😅).

Dry-fitted the windows to get a feel for how it's going to look.

A top down view of the separate floors of the inn.

Room for some small improvements, but generally happy with it.

I may have to change the name from 'The Drunken Duck' to 'The Piebald Pony', to match it's clientele, as it will also feature a wine cellar underneath.

From flat file, to 3D, to reality... it's a beast!

A couple of small adjustments needed to make it an easier fit in some places, but it's mostly there I think.

Now to start adding to it with XPS, balsa, stir sticks etc.

I think I might have over-engineered the Drunken Duck Inn 😅

Initially designed flat, using xTool Creative Space and then imported into Tinkercad to ensure it all fits together as expected.

This is the D&D version. Hoping to do a ruined version for Mordheim/Frostgrave.

Just a quick update to let you know that I have finally opened up shipping to the USA and Canada from the website! So if you've been after some laser cut goodies for your crafting projects, now you can 😀
(Still not able to deliver to the EU yet, sorry!)

My lunchbreak 'what-if' from yesterday (which spilled over into the evening last night and this morning) resulted in a little visual and textural upgrade to my laser cut tables.

Available very soon on the website!

Let me know what you think!

The result of yesterdays lunch break laser shenanigans... ladders for the sewer tiles to get to/from street level!

The 2nd pic is a modular tile 'cap', which should allow me to add sewer grates or stairs where I need them.

Finished the cobbling on the 2nd tile and I'm super happy with how they look together!

I think I'll be going back to the sewer/flat/church modular tiles next, where I'll need to work out how to allow for stairs down into basements and ladders down into sewers.

I decided to delay painting the previous tile until I had a few more ready.

So, here's another almost completed! Mostly just cobbles and stairs left to do. I added a private little boat dock for some rich merchant to unload their dodgy wares in secret.

Managed to finish off the stairs and the last of the cobblestones on this tile. I still need to add some details to the stair supports as they look too neat compared to the rest of it. Might add a few other details here & there, before I start undercoating.

The cobbling is almost done and work on the wooden stairs has begun! After that's built up, I think I'll move onto undercoating the foam and getting the first layer of colour down.

I'm really pleased with how this door looks now that it's painted!

Designed and laser cut from 2mm MDF, wood veneer and toothpicks!

The cobbling has begun!

Each cobble is 5mm x 5mm and 2-3mm high - all placed individually... Sanity not required!

A little more progress on tile 4 (I know, I jumped from 1 to 4 😅). Next up will be the edging and cobbles for the top layer and the wooden stair access between the two levels.

Stalled a little on the previous tile so did a little work on one of the others last night. Added some nice canal-side walkways using pre-cut 5cm and 2cm XPS sheets (after being inspired by @thomthelazypainter on Insta!)

Also planning beyond the first 4 tiles

Time for a sit down... pull up a chair!

Whilst I'm procrastinating on my current build, I designed and lasered some cool little 'push-fit' chairs. I really like how they came out! Hmm, now I need a table!

I'll make these available in the shop soon!

Slightly better shot of the angled grate.

Only dry-fitted as I’m still making sure cuts and scores are in the right places

Tried out a fun little ‘what if’ idea this evening.

I want to add some storm drains in the sewers of my current project.

Hit a few snags, but I think with what I have learned, and a few little refinements, I can definitely make the curved grate on the right work as well!

There are now 6 varieties of laser cut shingles available on the website, with another 4 on the way in the next couple of days!

Little more work on the sewers done for this tile. I'm planning on painting some of it before the ceilings go on permanently, as I also want to try a shallow resin pour into the channels (will be my first one ever, so lots of potential for it to go wrong 😅)

I've just added a couple of shingle jigs, designed by @whitesharkgamingstudios, to the website! The Rounded/Scalloped & Ramshackle jigs are available now, and are great for making your own fantastic looking shingles for building projects!

More designs coming soon!

Saw these in Home Bargains the other day. Thinking it could make a nice display stand for miniatures and only £2.99 to boot!
