@sluggodoug.bsky.social thought you might appreciate this vintage 1980 poster introducing an Amtrak train from LA to Las Vegas (and beyond) named the Desert Wind. The train lasted until 1997, when budget cuts forced replacement by a bus. Boooooooooo.

@sluggodoug.bsky.social Kudos to Larry the Duck for making P360, the B-52s edition happen. It was so great I am listening for a second time tonight on the App. Larry’s family really enjoyed listening as well while driving by the famous Peachoid along I-85 in Gaffney SC on Saturday morning.

@sluggodoug.bsky.social Colin Hay and Men at Work just finished their set at PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte NC. They were incredible, put on a great show touring with Cristopher Cross and Toto. Colin’s voice is as strong as it ever was in the 80’s. I’ll send some video snippets later (or sometime).

@sluggodoug.bsky.social just sharing a photo of smoke from the Persimmon Ridge wildfire in Upstate SC today while listening to 1stwave. Kind of unsettling seeing and later tonight smelling the smoke. I now know how folks out west in CA feel during fire season.

VD is awesome! The gift that keeps on giving. I may have to enjoy VD again. (Wait, that doesn’t sound quite right) Anyway, I Love it When You Call Me Names was an outstanding selection along with Frustrated and Last Chance on the Stairway. I didn’t have a 3-day weekend either. But hey, VD was great!
