People don't know that if you declare bankruptcy, you often can keep your primary residence as long as it's paid for/mortgage is up to date. A vehicle too, as long as it's paid for or payments are up to date. RV? Probably not protected. Anything deemed extra/luxury can be sold to satisfy debtors.

My mother was visiting from Europe when she died. She had full travel insurance, but the hospital could not figure it out. Kept sending me bills. I ignored them. Then I started getting junk mail in her name. Those shits sold her info. Ironically most were for life insurance... for a dead woman.

Rs are scary and have guns? Also most sheriffs and judges and such are Rs and it's good ol' boy politics. I'm in Alabama, 1/3 of the state votes D, but our ballots are nothing but R candidates for local positions. My town went 50/50 for a black woman Dem mayor. Dems try, but it's tough out here.

It's hard to believe what we are looking at is real. I have to go "Surely not..." I mean, I absolutely expect the worst, but I hope, quietly, that I am wrong, that I am too pessimistic... I really want to be proven wrong, so badly. It's hard to be disappointed when the bar is so low. Yet here we are

Central AL. It's a gorgeous state. The politics aren't great, but for the most part they don't mess too much with daily life (yet?). I really enjoy all the space, I can actually go places and not see any people. As a former city kid, it's the dream. 20 years and it still feels like a vacation.

I first visited the US in 2003, from Europe. I was genuinely expecting homes like you see on TV... Married with children, full house etc. culture shock, for sure. The thing that got me most was several gas stations, fast food places etc. together. Where I lived they spaced things out.
