(2) Why should Democrats hold themselves to a standard that Republicans would never, ever hold Trump to? Trump's executive pardons were blatant and objective abuses of power and you guys cheered it on from the side-lines.

So no, sorry, I don't really think you have a point here.
December 5, 2024 at 6:11 PM
Why should Democrats entertain any discussion about presidential integrity when Trump aggressively abused his pardoning powers on well over 200 individuals? Many of whom were political allies who LIED in federal investigations to cover for him.
December 5, 2024 at 6:09 PM
There is absolutely zero grounds whatsoever to claim that Biden is more corrupt than Trump. If you want to go through the list of examples we can do it, but you will either have to lie or rely entirely on baseless conspiracy theories. There is no argument whatsoever.

Trump behaviour should be the easiest target to have ever existed. The man has, at literally every presented opportunity, lied and tried to cheat his way through politics.

There are so many on the right that think there is no basis for questioning his character, because of stuff like this.

It is so important to engage with them and push back on it. it's boring talking to people who only agree with you. This is the age old problem that we on the left have, blocking does nothing - they get an internal sense of satisfaction that they were so right you couldn't respond, call them out.
December 4, 2024 at 8:12 PM
Remember when Trump got people to fraudulently sign elector certificates and then sent them into the Capitol trying to pass them off as valid, so that Pence could overturn the election for him? Is that the stealing your referring to?
December 4, 2024 at 6:54 PM
Remember the people Trump pardoned? Why should people give a shit what Republicans think of the standard of integrity within the Democratic party when they would never consider for a second holding one of their own to the same standard?
December 4, 2024 at 6:52 PM
Pretty sure they all went there thinking they were "fully armed with knowledge", unfortunately they were just armed with lies about election fraud. Oh well, at least some of them got to see the inside of a prison cell 😘
December 4, 2024 at 4:48 PM
(2) Remember all those campaign staff and former allies that turned on him when their illegal activities were outed? Who he then publicly attacked for months on end? Do you see any irony at all in your indictment of the left's "outrage at everything" behaviour?
December 3, 2024 at 10:48 PM
I worry you've seen a tiny handful of people exclusively on the internet get upset at stupid things and have their post retweeted by people on the right who will only go after ridiculously fringe, easy targets that make everyone (including the left) look bad.
December 3, 2024 at 10:36 PM
Yeah, again, if you literally can't go 5 seconds without doing or saying something inflammatory and can't stop yourself behaving like a chid while in the most powerful political position in the world, why be surprised when people match your behaviour?
December 3, 2024 at 9:24 PM
And they didn't run one against Obama? Biden? Kamala Harris?

If you're going to be a politician you're going to be held to a high standard (although Trump is not held to any standard whatsoever within his party). But if you're an asshole at every opportunity, why are you surprised you make enemies?
December 3, 2024 at 9:13 PM
If the only thing we disagree on is that the government could use money more efficiently then it sounds like we agree. The fact is that the government is critically important and, while it isn't perfect, it does immeasurable good for the country.
December 3, 2024 at 9:12 PM
If you elect someone who epitomises all of the worst traits of the Republican party and attacks literally every person and news outlet that doesn't praise him, can you really be surprised when he's unpopular amongst said media outlets?
December 3, 2024 at 9:10 PM
I'd rather money sometimes be wasted in pursuit of good causes than money sit in the bank account of someone who already has far too much wealth.
December 3, 2024 at 9:05 PM
"Level the playing field" was an acceptable phrase about 10-15 months ago. He's now literally being installed into a government position due to him helping Trump get elected by spreading misinformation on a SM platform he bought out for billions. Is this draining the swamp?
December 3, 2024 at 9:04 PM
Does Elon Musk, wealthiest man in the entire world, buying an entire social media platform only to use it to spread misinformation to get Trump elected not fall into this category?

The same guy now being installed in a government position despite owning multiple companies with gov. contracts?
December 3, 2024 at 8:55 PM
That money instead could be in the hands of an extortionately wealthy individual who will spend it in a non-wasteful way on extreme luxury goods and take it overseas into tax havens. What a great alternative.
December 3, 2024 at 8:53 PM
(2) It's also worth nothing that yes, sometimes government money ends up in certain hands, but with private companies the money almost always ends up in certain hands. Centralised wealth redistribution is one of the strongest pillars of modern civilisation.
December 3, 2024 at 8:48 PM
The government is not supposed to be efficient in the same sense as a private company with a profit-motive. The money that is poured into e.g. public healthcare in most countries does an enormous amount of good. The government also reinvests the money through contracts, sure, that's a good thing.
December 3, 2024 at 8:47 PM
Are these the same Republicans who were going to just "go to work" the day after the election if they lost before cheering on an attempted coup and storming the US Capitol building? 😅
December 3, 2024 at 8:44 PM
Then go back to X. A social media platform purchased by the wealthiest man in the world so he could push misinformation to help Trump get elected. Who was then installed in a position of power in the US government, while owning multiple companies with gov. contracts.

Not a cesspool at all.
December 3, 2024 at 5:48 PM
That money going to the government is eventually all reinvested back into the prosperity of the country. The government doesn't horde wealth for it's own personal benefit.

Countries that have instated e.g. public healthcare will attest to this.

Conservatives love safe spaces even more than liberals which is funny
