This Gyokeres agenda is ridiculous. Too often the ball isn’t played to him quick enough. Even if Odegaard places that ball better, Gyokeres is running out of room to run into.

Honestly I think we go supernova when we’ve got the majority of the players back fit. Just when we came close to having all our forwards back all our defenders get crocked. So unbelievably unlucky, but this is what this team was built for and we still currently sit top.

I mostly agree. My main issue with the performance was the sheer drop off in intensity after the Saka sub. There was no reason for it but it was noticeable. Especially annoyed at the the players who came on, they also showed no intensity at a point when the starters looked done.

I’d argue it was intentional. He wanted to be sent off.

Communication is important. Don’t doubt their individual abilities they’re amazing. What we’ve lost in Saliba is the cohesion and maybe the voice to keep things strung together. Would like to see Raya more vocal today.

I think we had options. The one sub he did make opened up a void in the middle of the pitch which allowed them to come at us. I think it would be revisionism to say Skelly/White/Hincapie couldn’t have helped us, these aren’t just defensive players but ones that could have helped us get out.

Sorry but I disagree. Doesn’t matter about rustiness or youth. All we needed in those last 15 minutes were legs. Players didn’t have the energy to close down space and that’s what allowed Sunderland to score. I’m not angry with Arteta but I do expect my manager to see the obvious.

I’ve seen penalties given for less and I’ve seen red cards given for similar incidents. I’m not even bothered if it’s a foul or not, but if it’s not then they need to be consistent with it.

I’m concerned about the sporting impact of playing home games away from the Emirates. This is something they really should have been working on toward the beginning of Arteta’s tenure, especially during Covid. To do it now whilst we’re in competition for serious trophies would be too damaging.

Big questions on why he started when Mosquera hasn’t put a foot wrong. Saliba naturally not sharp enough for a big game like this.

Exactly this and it works both ways. Mosquera and Hincapie are both CBs by trade but both can do a solid job at Fullback and I don’t think that’s a coincidence. It’s not very often we have all 4 fullbacks fit so we will have protection everywhere. 8 plug and play defenders who can play everywhere. 💪

For sure I think long term goal is to get Myles back in midfield and Hincapie will give us even more protection at LCB/LB.
