I’m an animator. The industry software I use charges $1.5k a year for an individual license (our salaries cap out well below six figures).

It’d be much more difficult to be a software developer if the ability to open .txt files was your largest monthly expense after rent.

In fairness I don't hang around here enough to know what the drama is either, so it's more of a structural critique than something I've observed
