Beautiful chilly morning. Got some late planting done, scuffled up the colorful leaves from the wet clay soil, saw little insects that survived the frosts, listened to the bluejays, crows, and a red squirrel in the pines.

Yesterday I did a book event at the Opendore house at the Howland Stone Store Museum in Sherwood NY, for a knowledgeable and lively audience of about 20. Great discussion afterwards! I'll have to go back, there's some treasure in their archive, including a gorgeous suffrage poster collection.
