Intro! We are Scarthin Books from the historic and
picturesque village of Cromford. Est. in 1974 we have recently celebrated our 50th birthday which is a welcome relief after nearly falling down in 2015 due to the weight of 100,000 books. We have a vegan/vegetarian café and a cat who visits daily.

It is said to be very difficult to predict the future, but if it were easy to describe the past we would need only one history book.

Visit Scarthin Books of Cromford to discover history needs a lot more books than that. History extends up the stairs to the first floor.
