Catching up on some other stuff Ive done as I'm still not regularly posting on here. Last night at BFI, on a whim, went to see Notes on a scandal. What a film. Can't believe I hadn't seen it before. Evil Judi Dench! Fabulous.

Very disturbing & fortunately had a friend around to chat about it after

Dinner in America @princecharlescinema.com is the absolute Tits!

Cant believe how much I loved this strange love story. Found out it was another lost Covid film which I'd probably why I hadn't heard of it until recently.

So great.

If there's one film that's a shoe in for all the technical Oscars next year, it's Wicked (Pt 1). It's utterly spectacular.

As for the film itself, you need to go in knowing its a full blown musical & there isn't much spoken dialogue, but i did enjoy it more than I thought.

Think I've just seen the film of @sohohorrorfest.bsky.social Birdeater is just my type of film. Uncomfortable, dark Aussie Comedy. Loved it.

It's gonna get a release next year, fortunately.

Covid isolation horror. It really gets me everytime & Aussie film In the room where he waits @sohohorrorfest.bsky.social is the best of its type. All the fears of isolation, loneliness, confinement & claustrophobia are ranked up to the n'th degree by a 1 man tour de force by Daniel Monks.

Just had the most brutal but brilliant 5 hours during this years @sohohorrorfest.bsky.social

Strange Harvest & Sayara were fabulous!

Another great event from The London Action at BFI with their screening of Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior. Recorded clips from Bruce Spence, Vernon Wells & George Miller himself. Plus a Max music rendition & a singalong of We Don't need another hero. What more can you ask for?

Such a fun night yesterday @princecharlescinema.com as The Front row gang valiantly attempted to win the Quiz, but in the end we ended up 6th out of 80 teams (yes it was sold out!) after being joint 2nd at half time. Only prizes up to 3rd, so close but no cigar!

Someone asked me could I create a list of your favourite film from each year of your life. The answer is, it's tough as you haven't seen everything.

But anyway, I did it last night from what I've seen. Can you do the same?

Another film that's got such a limited cinema release, managed to catch Joy at CurzonVictoria this morning.

A delightful film about one of the miracles of medical science, it will give you a warm feeling inside & it's another stella performance from Thomasin Mckenzie.

It's been a great day at Cheltenham. My first time back since 2018. A day when bookies were pulverised as favourite & well backed horses won every race. I broke even with 1 win & 5 places. Great to see a sporting event where 20k people are just having fun. Weather turned at the end but nothing bad.

You can't top a classic, but Gladiator 2 was certainly a lot better than i expected. There are a few flaws for sure, but this is Denzel's film. He has a whale of a time with his character.

So my 1st post on here & I'm starting with some potentially exciting news for me in 2025.

Ive been approached by the makers of a new film website being developed to write reviews for them next year.

Getting paid to do something I love? Of course I'm interested! So let's see.
