The scams have been greatly reduced on BlueSky. Kudos to the team and this platform.

Be careful of accounts claiming ties to Gaza. These are often not run by refugees, but by scammers using GoFundMe or GoFundMe clones to take your momey. They may show fake donations. Always check who is giving, if most givers are foreign accounts, it’s likely a scam.

Okay, so we have one—much more convincing—but the reposts, English, and quality of content are all huge red flags.

Also emailing people when they ask you not to in their bios is a no-no.
