DevTools startup podcast scalingdevtools.com
- made a Greptile energy drink for developers. That's how I heard about Greptile.
- made and hand delivered boxes of cookies with Steve Ballmer's voice playing.
- got a ton of free press for saying it's normal and good to work 84 hour weeks.

This is episode is a reminder to think differently

Thanks George.

Interesting problem. It sounds like there isn't a universal characteristic you can use 🤔

What kind of videos are they? If its like a podcast, could you instead identify when the actual speech happens/ends using a transcript and ai? And trim around that instead

I don't know if youtube helps
I don't know if transcriptions help

I suspect they do, but I have no way to prove it (maybe my data is too small)

Only things I know for sure work for us
- "good" episodes
- front page on hacker news (only happened once)
- guests who share the episode. Especially if they're famous and put effort into sharing it
- Consistency

Nothing else has definitely proven to work for us
