Enlightening: Anna Cannoni on her grandfather Woody Guthrie's intersections with Pete and Bob at @folk-alliance.bsky.social gathering in Montreal. Stunning home movies. Her mother, Nora, then 11, was watching American Bandstand and couldn't be bothered when Dylan first came to the door. #bobdylan

Was a joy to catch the fabulous Alison Russell, fresh off her run as Persephone in "Hadestown" (saw that in Dec.), as keynote speaker at @folk-alliance.bsky.social conf in Montreal. Big heart, awesome survival story (in her native city), captured in her newest record, "The Returner." Carry on.

I don't know if this is still good, but feels kind of Kansas City special for the evening activities. What do you think, Boulevard Brewing, and why aren't you on the Bluesky? #beer

Despite the @nytimes.com art critic's jaded dismissal, I'm up-thumbing the simulacrum exhibit of Luna Luna, at The Shed in NY, as an absorbing record of wild art times. Most visitors would come away having learned something meaningful about the likes of Haring, Basquiat and more.

My friend Donna Seaman's new book, 'River of Books,' about her lifetime in reading and the lifelines she always finds there, has a nice shoutout to the work of biography. @biographersintl.bsky.social
