It’s been all about the migrant Moths in the Preesall garden this last week a Migrant Sable being the 1st for Lancashire plus 2 Vestals, several Small Mottled Willows and Rusty Dot pearls plus regular double figure counts of Rush Veneers. @migrantmothuk.bsky.social

Lovely few days at home in Lancs with Cuckoo and Whinchat the pick of the migrants and taking Freddie to his first Airshow in Blackpool at the weekend. Keeping us awake for 6 nights and counting in a row the downside!!

@mothiduk.bsky.social away with no books. (ObsIdentify confidently says Yarrow) but would like a proper opinion thanks. Sorry it’s by trap at night. Posted this on X too. Where do you prefer?

Training in Glasgow gave me the opportunity to take in the Western Sandpiper at Maidens, Ayrshire on the way home. A new bird for me (but apparently present since November!). #rarebirdsuk #birdingScotland

@mothiduk.bsky.social hi Sean both first two pics taken by light of MV. ObsIdentify suggests Golden rod for both with more certainty on the middle one. I checked it against the common pug which it was 100% on. I on the other hand am even less sure than the app about the first two. Any help please?

Out with the dogs after the rain hoping for some migrants dropping in was a bit poor but a late pink rumped Twite was nice as was 3 Yellow wagtails in the White Wagtail flock which numbered 12 today the return walk also yielding a few Whimbrels. #Lancsbirding #birds

Slowly getting used to my new Preesall, Lancashire surroundings locally despite vismig being my main birding from the house roof. Yesterday 5 Little Terns was apparently quite a decent record only to be followed by 6 today so presumably the same. #Lancsbirding @billaspin.bsky.social #birds
