We're pretty messed up at this point. And it goes beyond just Trump, who is just the bad actor abusing the system. Worth a listen: www.dancarlin.com/product/comm...

Greenland remains a part of the Council of Europe and NATO as part of Denmark. They, along with Canada, must be FULLY protected against imperialist USA.

Where is this?
March 16, 2025 at 11:41 PM
I guess that was an unsaid assumption. Though, just sell the windows pc and buy a Mac seems like the optimal solution.
March 12, 2025 at 12:35 AM
Since this is about desktops, why aren't people listing Macs as an option?

Been there. Hope it was at least laparoscopic.

Yeah, being a bullied child, both by other kids but also by some evil adults, that conference was a PTSD trigger. I can't even listen to the replays. Wow.

I don't love managers that know lots about tech, but are horrible at management. I'd rather a really good manager who knows how to listen to competent tech people. Put another way, I hate a manager that thinks they know it all.

Vance may actually be scarier. Likable guy that will slit your throat.

And all the freaking specialists. Sheesh. Feel like I'm just being passed around to all these people for 20 minute visits and none of them know the whole me.

Also going to the doctor and being made to feel like anything you complain about is a figment of your imagination. Also, sometimes like pulling teeth to get tests. The medical system is not on our side.

Hopefully will put some of them out of business.

Omg, do you think I AOC herself ran for president in 2024, that she would have won? Or anyone that can be painted in a fear-driven socialism corner? Democrats need to address working people's affordable living without a bunch of entitlement promises, and rural voters.

Rules are constraints. I'm telling you, it's not using brute force. We can agree that board games are a limited environment. But the principles of self-learning and exploration remain. Add to that the ability to reason, rewrite its own code, and do adversarial training.
January 28, 2025 at 10:17 PM
No, the advanced AIs do explore. Do some reading about reinforcement learning. It's how we can give an AI just a few rules and it can train itself, including exploration, and without testing all paths like the original deep blue used to do with chess. It can win any human at Go and Chess.

Why is it fear mongering? Why is it destructive?
January 28, 2025 at 8:05 PM
Huh? What does fear have to do with whether AI can be more intelligent than humans? I didn't particularly fear it, but it's totally orthogonal one way or the other.

It's not a hype article, it's a good overview of the mechanics of models these days, read it. Just because you did some image processing with cafe or tensorflow or whatever, look again. Not saying these models are there yet, not predicting how many years. But they're gonna get there.
January 28, 2025 at 7:23 PM
Well I suggest you do some reading, or are you qualified to make such a statement somehow? medium.datadriveninvestor.com/the-chinese-.... Look into how these things are working these days.

Of course it can be creative. Why do you think humans are so special? How does creativity work? I would posit via reasoning, exploratory experimentation, and accident. Modern AIs are becoming capable of these things, and then they rewrite their own code and learning techniques.

Cool if I get an account on it I'm gonna ask a bunch of questions about Tibet.
