I've been watching us degrade since 1974 or so. Assassinating elected leaders for being too populist. Supporting dictators. Undoing the New Deal and the consumer movement. Suppressing votes, gerrymandering, packing the courts with RW radicals. Citizens United. I can go on...

I agree ... Don't get too wrapped up in all the smoke and mirrors - it's a magnificent shitshow, but not as bad (yet) as headlines lead us to think. Keep your powder dry.

I have. I've also heard a legal theory that, because of the congressman used his official X account, he could be in for charges that he violated the first amendment, government establishment of religion. It's a stretch, but I'd love to see it tried.
